THISTLES were under pressure from the off. The defence worked hard, but the team found themselves four nil down by half time.
After the break, Thistles had a period of good play with Ben Langton, Sam Straughan, Matt Jefferies and Joshua Leeson working together to create some chances.
This led to two quick goals from Ben Pridham who teamed up well with Niall Murphy in attack.
However, Tamerton were able to respond with three further goals to place the match well out of Thistles reach.
Man of the match: Phillip Snell.

IN this first round Thistles played at home to a well organised team who went ahead early with an excellently placed goal.
Several chances from Thistles strikers Chris Hutchins, Robert Leeson and Alex Lowe were deftly parried by the opposition defence.
But despite brave defending Foliot scored another with a long range shot past goalkeeper Mark Smerdon.
Leeson opened Thistles account with Hutchins following shortly after. Just before half time, Foliot scored again to put themselves in the lead.
The second half saw renewed determination from Thistles with the midfield of James Day-Cocking, Matthew Roberts, Ben Pearce and Sam Brookes providing superb passes that were converted decisively twice by Hutchins, and once by Lowe. Tamerton kept up the pressure but were unable to penetrate the defenders.
