Tavistock Thistles U15s 3

THISTLES were quick to score when Michael Fowler latched on to a through-ball and pushed it past the stranded keeper.

Seconds later a great shot from the hardworking Sparkwell midfield made Dan Smith, making his debut as the Thistles keeper, push the ball over the crossbar, preventing a certain goal.

The second half saw Thistles getting to grips with the game and a great shot on the turn from Ian Smerdon easily beat the keeper. A third goal from the in-form Ben Sharland sealed the game for Thistles.

Tavistock Thistles U15s 2

Chaddlewood U15s 2

THIS was the last league game of the season and with only ten lads available due to injury and the Easter vacation Thistles were going to find it hard going.

Chaddlewood were quick to take advantage of the extra man and within five minutes a through-ball was not cleared properly and Thistles were a goal down.

Hard work from the midfield of Sharland, Lowe and Yorith started to pay dividends when a great cross from Yorith found Ben Sharland at the back post to level the game.

The game started to swing in Thistles? favour when a throw-in found Sharland again in space and made it 2-1.

Chaddlewood pulled back onto level terms just before half-time.

The second half was full of chances but neither side could successfully convert them into goals.

Man of the match: Patrick Johnson. Manager?s man of the match: Ben Sharland.

The Thistles cup final is at the Elburton Ground, Hay Road on May 11, 11.30am kick-off.
