TIDY Tavi will be busy at work this weekend during their latest tidy up event.
A group spokesperson said members had noticed a build up of litter in the streets and public spaces of Tavistock after large numbers of visitors came to the town for carnival week, despite the best efforts of local authority staff.
To help alleviate any litter problems, Tidy Tavi will meet on Saturday, August 5 to pick up rubbish.
Anyone wanting to join in can meet the group at 10am on Saturday. There is no need to register or join the group on an ongoing basis.
In a bid to encourage families with children, the group will now be awarding ‘I’ve tidied Tavi’ badges to anyone who helps out. These are expected to be popular among youngsters — the first four recipients were Evie, Joel, Ella and James Baker, who are pictured.
