I AM writing in relation to the café at Parklands leisure centre. I was very annoyed to hear of the decision made by the Parklands management. The café at Parklands is superb, and is a real asset to the community. We, the customer will now, no doubt be paying more money for lower quality services, as always seems to be the case when a 'national' firm takes over. Parklands is a community resource and the community should have been considered before this decision was made. I for one will no longer be using the café facility once it changes. I would urge the management at Parklands to reconsider their decision. I would also ask anyone in Okehampton who agrees that this is the wrong decision to let the management at Parklands know their feelings, maybe a little people power might sway their decision.
