TWELVE-year-old Emily Attfield from Tavistock took a break from her usual triathlons to take part in the Mount's Bay Harriers Junior Aquathlon at Penzance Leisure Centre in West Cornwall on Sunday. The race began with a 200m swim followed by a 2.7km run around the fields and lanes surrounding the leisure centre.
Emily finished the swim with a narrow lead, gradually distancing herself from the competition to win in a time of 14mins 25sec — more than one and a half minutes ahead of the second place athlete. This was Emily's third aquathlon win this year.
