THE Reddaways Removals team, 'Move a Bit Quicker', from South Zeal got down and dirty at the Commando Challenge earlier this month.

The team had to race round a gruelling course at the Royal Marines' endurance training centre on Woodbury Common in East Devon.

It involved tackling various obstacles, including wading through a mud pit, scrabbling through pitch black and rocky tunnels, and the renowned 'sheep dip' — a completely underwater tunnel.

The gritty team came sixth out of the 75 mixed teams, and a superb 11th out of the 134 teams that entered the 4km challenge.

Their efforts raised money for Devon Air Ambulance and The Royal?Marines support organisation, the 'C' group.

The team has so far raised £569, and the event total currently stands at over £250,000.

Team captain Mike Clinch, Reddaways Removals director, said: 'As the eldest team member at 50, I was worried I might hold the group up, but we worked well together and got round with fantastic results!'
