CLUBS and voluntary groups for young people in West Devon are being urged to make contact if they feel they could do with support in setting up or running their organisation. Pam Thurgood, of Tavistock and District Youth Network, based at the youth office in Tavistock College, said the network can do a lot to help voluntary groups in the area: ?Every year we get grant aid which is there for clubs to make applications to. ?It?s usually around £10,000 and providing they belong to the youth network, they can be considered for a grant for equipment or whatever. ?And if they need any advice, we have a youth worker who can go out and visit the clubs to help. ?We just want people to know we are here for them to access for support.? Pam said it costs nothing to become a member of Tavistock and District Youth Network ? any local voluntary youth organisation can join.
