MORE than 100 young farmers from Devon converged on Okehampton to battle it out in the football and hockey stakes on Sunday.
The best players in clubs throughout the county were picked for six teams — East Devon, Tarka, North Devon, South Dartmoor, Haldon and the Exe Valley.
Although it was a closely fought contest at Okehampton's Simmons Park, East Devon came out as champions.
The Devon young farmers hold sporting events throughout the year, the next of which will be a ten-pin bowling competition in Exeter.
