One hundred and forty people enjoyed a street lunchtime party in The Square at Sampford Courtenay on Saturday with bangers and mash and onion gravy followed by fruit jelly, all prepared and cooked locally. Commemorative mugs were presented to all children in the village aged 12 and under and games and competitions were held on the green. Cream teas were served in the upper room of the church rooms all afternoon.
