YEAR 5 children at Okehampton Primary found out about the wonders of science recently, thanks to a visit from the Explorer Dome team.

The Explorer Dome is a portable, inflatable planetarium dome that provides lively and interactive science shows for children.

Though the dome is purpose built as a planetarium, the team does not concentrate solely on space education, instead covering as many different aspects of the physical, biological and environmental sciences as possible.

The Explorer Dome visit to the school is part of the school's efforts to provide exciting and inspiring learning experiences for pupils.

After the dome visit, children and parents took part in a star gazing event.
