I WAS very surprised at the letter in last weeks Times from Mr Bower: Not surprised at the 'pop' at the English patron saint (it's par for the course), but surprised he can't see the flaws in his statements.

All of the items he listed as being done by Europe were in fact paid for completely by the UK. Not one penny has come from any other source.

This must be so, as we are the second biggest contributor to this madness, so we pay in a lot more than we take out.
