THE royal and regal of Okehampton are being called forward to don their crowns for the town this year. Okehampton Carnival Committee is looking for boys and girls to enter their Prince and Princess competition for 2008. Couples must be between the ages of 4 and 11 on carnival day, Saturday October 18. They are also requesting entries for the Carnival Queen. Entrants should be aged 12 or over on carnival day. The carnival committee will be happy to offer any advice regarding construction of a float and have a trailer available for both royalty floats if it is required. However, they have warned parents to be aware that attendance at other local carnivals will be expected. Entries for both competitions should be handed in to Krafty Cards in Red Lion Yard or J C Books in the Arcade by Friday May 16. Name, age, address and a contact number for all entrants should be given and parents must indicate their consent by signing the entry for any child under 16.
