ENOUGH is enough, we have an excellent and dedicated farming community in the West Country; these farming families need our support. To see generations of dedication to the land being trodden into the mud of obscurity must not be allowed to continue!
We must not allow our farmers to be bullied by these so-called allies of our across the channel. The French do not rule the world! We are all equal and should have equal rights to trade.
Would they allow us to treat them the same way? I think not! This government must stand up to the dictatorial tactics of the French.
We should be advertising our own products in preference to the foreign produce in the local shops and communities and there needs to be help for small producers to get their goods to market. Our produce is the best in the world, our apples, lamb, beef are all produced with very high standards.
Yet we are witnessing the demise of our farming industry, the rot must stop! It is up to the whole community to change things for the better; to show this government by example. Buying British produce before foreign produce should support the farming and horticultural industry, we should also look to more media advertising for our fruit and vegetables.
We have always played the game and now we demand that this government play it too. Stop bowing and scraping to those across the water and have some pride in our country.

OUR farmers are quite rightly concerned at the loss of their markets in Europe.
Given that the French ban is a temporary setback it will still take many years for beef exports to reach their 'pre-BSE' levels.
New markets do not appear overnight. Imagine a scenario a hundred times worse, where a host of our products are unwelcome in a hostile EU.
This would be the inevitable outcome of the European policies advocated by Mr Hague.
