Cullompton U13s 7 Tavistock U13s 58 TAVISTOCK were allowed to play some attractive rugby at Cullompton last Sunday with their quick running game bringing ten well-deserved tries. Flanker Callum Thompson opened the scoring with a strong pick and go off an attacking ruck. Quick ball out through Elliot Hoyte found Dan Oner on the wing to run in the second. Next came the best play and score of the game, Tavistock, deep in their own half, ran the ball along the backs at speed to full back Phillip Snell. He offloaded to centre Tom Thursby on the overlap to take the run down the line, pulling in the defence then skilfully cutting inside to score between the posts. Number ten Jack Morgan went over next from Mark Friend and Jack Haigh off a ten-metre scrum. Phillip Snell rounded out the half with two tries in typical darting speed. Cullompton found new vigour in the second half after Elliot Hoyte scored Tavistock?s seventh through a ruck on the line. The home side pulled one back after a series of try-line fumbles. Tavistock soon got back on track, care of James Lockley?s strong work. Scrum half Jack Haigh put a training field scam into play with a flat run across the line to put Hoyte in for his second. Phillip Snell finished off the scoring. This week Tavistock travel to Plymstock.
