THE Okehampton branch of the Devonshire Association is repeating last year's successful event by holding an exhibition of old Okehampton photographs and memorabilia.

The exhibition at Okehampton Conservative Club takes place on Thursday, August 15 from 7pm onwards and admission is free.

The items will be from the personal archive collections of Jill Lower and Hilary and Mike Wreford, who have  lived and worked in and around Okehampton for most of their lives and have amassed a large amount of material between them.   

There will be a large display of photographs covering more than a 100 years of Okehampton life as well as many other hitherto unseen items and documents from the town — including some early papers of the former Okehampton War Memorial Hospital in East  Street, the military on Dartmoor, Okehampton airfield sports teams, schools and much else that will provoke interest and discussion.
