THE Tamar Valley has embarked on a high-tech treasure hunting game called geocaching.
The idea is to locate hidden containers, known as geocaches, and then share your experiences online.
The hunt is enjoyed by people of all ages, creating a sense of community and support for the environment.
The geocache trail has been created as part of the Tamar Valley Mining Heritage Project and there are three caches to be found around Devon Great Consols, once the greatest copper mines in Europe — Pretty Fragile, Copper Boom and Geology Rocks.
By completing the 'Hidden Depths' trail people can discover why the site is special locally and internationally as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
