TO mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Royal British Legion, Devon, along with all other parts of the country, will be staging a series of celebratory events throughout 2011.

More than 25 happenings are scheduled for Devon in June alone, with the biggest planned for Plymouth Hoe on Sunday June 26.

Starting at 11.30am and going on throughout the afternoon, the 'Great Poppy Party' will provide entertainment for all the family.

Entertainment includes music from the 1920s to the present from Arcadia Jazz and dancing for young and old, Urban X School of Dance, cheer leaders and Salsa, Street Factory Dance Crews, and 26 guitarists of the Plymouth Youth Music Service and folksingers.

In addition, there will be a cream tea tent, various catering outlets, a Michelin-star chef demonstration, not to mention Drake's Den Fun Bus and a steel band from Cornwall, while ZigZag Magic Man will keep the children amused.
