A CHANCE to learn how to prune apple trees will be on offer on Saturday July 9 with a summer pruning course.

The course will be at an orchard within the Tamar Valley between 10am and 1pm, and led by apple expert Charles Staniland.

Participants will learn the art of summer tree pruning where the aim is to enhance fruit production and manage the trees in a sustainable method.

Those attending should wear suitable strong clothing and boots and are invited to bring suitable tools they might have.
