THERE were no programmed matches for Tavistock Tennis Club seniors in the league last week with the usual mid-season break, but two postponed men's matches were played with a good win for the A team.
Results — seniors: men's A team won 7-3 away against Plymstock A. Simon Thomas and Bernard Mowle v their 1st pair; 4-6, 6-3, 4-6: v 2nd pair; 6-3, 6-2. Ray Hinton and Sean Jefferson v their 1st pair; 6-4, 6-3: v 2nd pair; 0-6 - forfeited set by Tavistock due to late arrival - 6-2, 6-4.
D team lost 4-6 away against Yelverton C. Mike Jefferies and Steve Fletcher v their 1st pair; 2-6, 3-6: v 2nd pair; 6-2, 4-6, 4-6. David Isaac and Will Simpson v their 1st pair; 1-6, 7-6, 0-6: v 2nd pair; 6-2, 6-0.
Juniors: A team lost 2-6 away against St. Budeaux in a postponed match. Tom Bruce v their 1st player; 3-6, 2-6. Will Simpson and Russell Rice v their 1st pair; 2-6, 2-6. Will v their 2nd player; 6-3, 6-2. Tom and Russell v their 2nd pair; 2-6, 0-6.
