THE recent open day at West View Care Home, Bere Alston, raised £660 for the local charity Power Pack, which aims to enable children and young people with physical disabilities the chance to experience aspects of life we all take for granted, such as a holiday abroad and opportunities for sports, including the latest initiative in assisted archery lessons.

We would like to thank master chef Peter Gorton for his amazing demonstration —everyone learnt from his masterclass — Blaxton, Amis and the Tavy Tars for their musical entertainment, Mark Mears Sports Therapist for his destress massage skills, Jan Hughes for sponsoring the buffet lunch, Steph Adams for the pony rides and car park, David and Christine Mitchell for the tombola and games, and all the West View team, including residents, who were stars on the day, looking after our guests.
