THANK you for printing our 1910 photograph.
We would also like to thank everyone who came to our 90th anniversary service of thanksgiving on June 15 1999. It was wonderful to see so many 'old' faces with the new. The total collection realised £95.26 in aid of Scout Holiday Homes Trust.
Our next 90th anniversary gathering is a barbecue on Friday July 2 7pm at the 'Den', Pixon Lane. We would love as many past members of the group in whatever capacity to join us.

THE trustees of Whitchurch Village Hall wish to thank everyone who helped in any way to arrange the recent Summer Fair.
And of course, thanks to those who braved the weather and came and supported the fund-raising event. A total of £906 was raised. Thank you all.
Kit Thomas, Chairman, Whitchurch Village Hall Trustees
I AM writing to thank all the organisations in your local area that participated and contributed enormously to the huge success of Volunteers Week, June 1-7.
This year proved to be the biggest ever Volunteers Week. 23,000 organisations took part, more than double the number in 1998, awarding certificates to over 100,000 volunteers, It was a vote of thanks to all volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to helping others.
We hope that, as we move towards the new millennium, even more people will get active in their communities.
Ruth Johnson, National Centre for Volunteering
I WOULD publicly like to pay tribute to the lady who took the trouble to take my handbag to the police station in Tavistock on a busy Saturday.
I found myself in Tavistock without any money, without any means of getting money and without any identification. I was therefore very relieved and very grateful to have my beg restored to me.
I would like to thank the lady who was on her way to a wedding but did not leave her name so I hope to do so through your pages and in doing so focus on the fact that there are still good deeds and honest citizens.
Mrs D Snushall, Meavy Lane, Yelverton
