AS secretary and on behalf of the Lewdown recreation and youth sports activities committee I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to our Country and Western evening last Friday at Bratton Clovelly with Tony Beard and the Texans.
Also a thank you to Trago Mills Liskeard; Lawson's Tavistock; Homeleigh Garden Centre Launceston; Ambrosia, Lifton; Orchard Electrical, Launceston; Tescos, Launceston; Countryside Watch Association and Blackburn Rovers, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Everton football clubs and members of the public who donated the raffle prizes.
The event was held to help us raise the funds for Lewdown's new community sports pavilion.
Our thanks to you all for helping us ensure that youngsters in our community have good facilities for the future of sports in this rural area.

I AM writing on behalf of Tavistock Young Farmers' Club to thank the local businesses which kindly supported our grand draw at the dinner and dance held last month.
A total of 65 prizes were donated and these helped the club to raise over £500.
Your support is greatly appreciated and we wish you all a prosperous year.
