THE family of an Okehampton man, who died suddenly at the age of 19 last year, have expressed thanks to all the people who supported a motorcycle ride in his memory. Mike Morrish, who suffered from epilepsy, died in June 2006 and in April this year his father Darren rode his motorcycle from Land?s End to John O? Groats, raising £2,773 for SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy.) Darren, who lives in Bristol, is the stepson of Lynn Morrish who works as a hairdresser in Okehampton. ?Mike lived in the town since his birth and we would like to thank all those who sponsored, donated and supported Darren on his motorcycle ride,? said Mrs Morrish. ?Mike was such a nice lad who had his whole life in front of him. From now on SUDEP is going to be a charity close to our heart.?
