I AM writing as president on behalf of the Lions Club of Tavistock to say a big thank you to all who helped to make this year's Tavistock Carnival Week a success.

My thanks as president especially go to everyone who took part in all the week's activities, and to all the Heroes and Villains that took part in the carnival procession.

I would also like to give our thanks to all our sponsors for the week's events, as without them we would not be able to put on these activities.

My thanks also go out to all Lions, partners, family and friends and outside organisations who came along to help out at the various events and, of course, the procession on carnival day and all the bucket shakers, with a total of £2,154 being made from the bucket collection.

The sum was only part of the total funds raised throughout the week's events, the total sum as yet to be announced, with all funds in turn distributed back into the local community and charities.

A big thank you to all concerned.
