ON behalf of the Robey Trust I wish to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make our 21st steam fair such a success.
Apart from our many helpers and exhibitors we also express our thanks to the leaders of our two local authorities, once again, for their support in opening the show and to the town crier from Callington for stepping into the breach due to the unavoidable absence of Tavistock's own town crier.
We were most impresses by the two-page report in the Times with its excellent photographs, which showed not only many of the activities but also the most enjoyable atmosphere at the show.
Finally, but not least our sincere thanks to the general public, some of whom travelled considerable distances and the town's people for attending and making it such a successful event.

ONCE again we thank everyone who kindly supported our RNLI?Flag Week collection this year. Unfortunately we were short of collectors in Tavistock and at Yelverton but the local generosity more than compensated for this.
The total raised was around £2,100, down on last year to £442.74 in Tavistock and £152.09 in Yelverton. Morrisons was similar at £1025.89 (£549.98 Fri, £475.91 Sat) but house to house in Bere Alston and Bere Ferrers was up at £448.04 with one box still to be counted.
We are continually more helpers so if anyone is prepared to assist us please contact me on 01822 615360.
Many thanks.
