TAVISTOCK Tennis Club completed a full programme of planned league matches last week where overall results were somewhat disappointing with some wide score margins. In a separate event recently, two juniors did exceptionally well in reaching the final of the Plymouth and District schools competition. Tavistock players: Babette/John Jackson and Patricia Stead/Pascal Lecerf. l Club junior Phil Snell in the county finals of the ?Road to Wimbledon? tournament at Ivybridge after a bye in the first round lost 2-6, 1-6 in the second to an older player which was a closer match than the score depicts with some long rallies. Phil gained experience from this tournament and is eligible to enter again next year. Club juniors Josh Brown and Luke Wakeley did exceptionally well recently in the Plymouth and District U15 Schools doubles competition of one set matches played at Plympton, when they won 6 matches losing 3-6 in the final against strong opposition.
