THE winner of the poetry competition, run as part of an 'Anniversary Booklet' produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ten Tors Challenge, has been announced.

He is Bernard F Carter, of Bere Alston. A selection of the entries has been displayed in the foyer of Tavistock Library.

People were asked to submit poems on the theme Dartmoor and the Ten Tors to win the opportunity of seeing their poem published in the booklet. 

The poems were judged by librarians at Tavistock Library in consultation with the booklet co-ordinator.
