WEST Devon children's charity CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) will be holding its annual Golf Day at Trethorne Golf Club on Friday, June 21. and is appealing for golfers to join the event.

CHICKS fundraiser Mick Ryan said: 'Since we began in 1992, we are proud to have provided more than 10,000 disadvantaged children with free respite breaks. This year, funding permitting, we aim to provide another 1,200 disadvantaged children with this wonderful opportunity. Although the respite breaks are provided to the children completely free, each child's place costs us on average £735 and events like our annual golf day help us raise the vital funds we need to continue our work.'

The Golf Day starts with a bacon sandwich and hot drink followed by the 18-hole stableford competition with a prize on every hole, free halfway house, two's competition and concludes with a meal and prize-giving.
