FOUR students from Okehampton College were recently announced winners of the school's Technologist Awards.

Each year the awards are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Okehampton and before term ended members judged the projects which were part of GCSE coursework.

These were in the areas of electronics, resistant materials, graphic products, textiles and product design.

Judges were Rotary Club president Allenton Fisher and members Russ Thomas, Mike Luxton and John Moppett.

Winners in each category were: GCSE textiles, Eve Haliday; GCSE resistant materials, Rob Steptoe; GCSE electronic products, Matt Webber; GCSE graphic products, Kerrie Bourne.

The A-Level award in product design went to Sam Bullingham. Second was Fay Hestor.

All these students have been invited to a Rotary Club lunch when term starts in September to receive their prizes and display their work.
