THE people of Ashwater parish and surrounding villages are being invited to join together to commemorate the Great War on Saturday, November 22 at a special tea party in the parish hall, bringing friends and neighbours together for an afternoon of socialising and family fun for all age groups.

The event, from 3pm to 6.30pm, will include displays from the Holsworthy First World War Remembrance project and Ashwater School, an array of traditional games including a beetle drive and board games and a delicious tea created by a band of volunteers.

Please wear red, white and blue or dress from the era. There will also be music from the era and a bar.

Tickets are only £4 for adults or £2 for children. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Parish Hall extension project.
