TAVISTOCK Community Football Club held a golf day to help raise money to cover the running costs of the new Crowndale development.

In glorious conditions the event was held at the new Boringdon Park Golf Course at Plympton. Twenty six golfers turned up to do battle and where split into two divisions, the first division being won with 40 points by Alan Bloomfield from hole sponsor Netex and won a prize of a meal for two donated by the Two Bridges Hotel, Princetown, along with a bottle of wine; the second division was won by by Jim H with 38 points winning a meal for two donated by The Bedford Hotel, Tavistock, as well as a bottle of wine. Andy Furse from hole sponsors Build Centres won the twos with Dave Gardiner of Aard and Wolfe winning nearest the pin and longest drive. K Martin won nearest the pin with his second shot on the 13th while Mhairi McCall won the ladies section. The golf was followed by a carvery meal and the prizes where given out once every one had finished eating.

Martin Harris, on behalf of TCFC, thanked the sponsors of the holes for their generosity, which enabled the club to raise £600 on the day.
