TAW Vale Judo Club's juniors and seniors have been grading both in theory and competition recently.

Club juniors and seniors were examined by Dave Allen, chairman of the Western Area of the British Judo Association. Following this three seniors and two juniors went on to the Western Area competitive Grading at Kingsbridge to complete their grade qualifications in contest.

Grades achieved were: juniors: Archie Cooper, grade 3 mon, red belt, theory only; Ellie Plumpton, 4 mon, yellow, theory only; Richard Plumpton, 11 mon, green, contest grade; Lawrence Waldron, 10 mon, green, contest grade.

Seniors: Carl Cooper, 4 kyu, blue, contest grade; Hannah Stone, 7 kyu, orange, contest grade — first grading.

Dan grading: Adrian Plumpton, 10 points (ippon win) towards 1st dan black belt.

Taw Vale Judo club meets every Wednesday — in and out of school term — at North Tawton Rugby Club. Primary age children 6.30pm -7.30pm, approximately, and secondary age children and seniors (over 16) 7.30pm to 8.30pm approximately.
