TAVISTOCK Athletic Club have decided to make this years Tavy 7, which takes place on Sunday, October 23, in honour and celebration of the life of a very valued former member.

Martin Gibbs was an active member of the local community, both as a director at Mansbridge and Balment estate agents, and as runner and member of TAC.

Martin was hugely supportive of the Tavy 7 race and was an active and successful fundraiser through his love of sport — raising monies for a number of charities.

Tavistock Athletic Club have therefore decided that the 2011 Tavy 7 will be in celebration of the life of Martin, who died earlier this year.

The club is also fundraising for St Lukes Hospice, as a gesture of its appreciation for the amazing care that Martin received from all the staff at the hospice.

The event, sponsored by Mansbridge and Balment, will start at noon and features a family fun run of 1.5 miles, which will also take place at the Plasterdown venue.

The fun run is open to all, with entries available only on the day.

Entry forms for the main race are available from the website at http://www.tavy7.com">www.tavy7.com, from Active Sports in Tavistock or Mansbridge and Balment offices.
