THE second gala of the Cornwall and West Devon League for Tavistock Swimming Club was another tough one, held at Bodmin's Dragon Leisure Centre against teams from Kelly College, Caradon Cobras and Launceston.
However the town swimmers secured three first places and 23 personal best times, finishing in a well deserved third place with 100 points, just above Launceston.
Harry Thompson gained a first place in the boys' 11/U freestyle, while Kathryn Stacey won both the girls 15/U freestyle and ladies Open freestyle races.
Those taking part (with number of personal best times achieved in brackets) were Kameron Brimble (2), Jordan Channon (2), Matthew Edwards (2), Lizzie Fearnley (2), Nathaniel Rookes (2), Harry Thompson (2), Matthew Adams (1), James Anderson (1), Gavin Ball (1), Michael Best (1), Jason Butler (1), Lily Edwards (1), Bel Germon (1), Holly Gibbs (1), Megan Groom (1), Kieran Rookes (1), Kathryn Stacey (1), Kirsty Best, Holly Brimble, Will Carter, Caitlin Chapman, Harriet Edwards, Natalie Greep, Sam Harmsworth, Cameron McGurk, Catriona Smith, Matt Stacey, Alexandra Stoecker, Elizabeth Teague, Ella Waddington and Gareth Williams.
The club now go on to the final round of the competition at Plymouth Central Park on Saturday, July 11.
