A GROUP of charity fundraisers painted the town red on Saturday afternoon, for the CHICKS Santa Run.

Hundreds of people took part in the 1.5 mile run through Tavistock, with adults and children alike running, walking and skipping their way from Bedford Square and around the course to raise money for CHICKS.

CHICKS provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK, including many from Devon. The children the charity helps come from a variety of backgrounds; for example, some are living in poverty or are young carers for sick or disabled relatives.

The one thing they all have in common is the need for a break away from home, which CHICKS provides at their retreats in Devon, Cornwall and Derbyshire.
