Their first race, the 4x100m freestyle relay, saw them pitted against some tough competition but the team of Gareth Williams, Michael Best, Nathaniel Rookes and Matt Edwards all went close to or under their personal best times and just pipped Newton Abbot to take the bronze medal. The team then repeated this position in the 4x100m medley relay, this time with a margin of more than three seconds between them and fourth.
This was a great day for the team as they were only beaten by teams from Plymouth Leander, who had entered a team featuring Commonwealth Games medallists, and Exeter City. The boys are now looking forward to their next relay challenge, wherever that may be!
