THE contract for the hospital car service for patients treated at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust or at NHS Plymouth sites, which has been run for the last three years by Transport Access People (TAP) has been extended until 30 September 2011.

TAP has run the contract for the last three years and during that time, transported 10,383 patients from Cornwall, Plymouth and Devon to Plymouth based sites; of these, 98% of patients travelling in TAP booked vehicles reached their hospital appointment on time.

All patients can get information and help about their journey from the TAP Information Network (TAP-IN) on 08450 539100 and if appropriate a community transport car can be arranged or advice given on other transport options. Both Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and NHS Plymouth can provide more information.
