MEMBERS of the Plymouth and West Devon Talking Newspapers celebrated its 40th anniversary at the end of last year.

Dignitaries, including the Mayor of Tavistock Cllr Mandy Ewings, Deputy Mayor of West Devon Cllr Jeff Moody and the Lord Mayor of Plymouth Cllr Pauline Murphy, attended the charity’s annual meeting at Tavistock Golf Club, which was followed by a buffet lunch and speakers. They celebrated 40 years since the charity was formed by two nurses at Tavistock Hospital. One of the original readers Helen Harris (with bouquet of flowers) attended as well as listener for 40 years Bob Clare-Noone and more than 75 volunteers.
