THE annual open meeting of the South Tawton and District Local History Group takes place tomorrow (Friday).

Near the beginning of each year, the group has an open meeting where everyone is invited to attend.

This year's meeting takes place at the Victory Hall in South Zeal from 7.30pm. Dr Todd Gray, renowned for his in-depth knowledge of Devon's history, will give a talk on 'Devon's Most Remarkable Churches'.

The talk will be based on his recently published book 'Devon's Fifty Best Churches', which is a personal selection of churches based on the most outstanding examples of stained glass, fonts, carved bench ends, screens and memorials.

There is an admission charge of £2 and light refreshments will be served.
