WE have all been saddened to hear of the sperm whales being washed up dead on the English North Sea coast. The magnificent creatures are not normally found in such shallow seas.

Dr Ann Pulsford  (organiser of the very successful Tea-time Talks at the Wharf in Tavistock on Monday afternoons) is giving a talk entitled ’The Art and Science of the Sperm Whale’ for the Tavistock Local Group of the Devon Wildlife Trust on Wednesday, February 10.

This is the first talk for the group in the new 2016 programme and will take place in the Parish Church Centre, Plymouth Road, Tavistock (next to Bedford Hotel).
