A TAVISTOCK Cricket Club player has just signed to play for Surrey next season.

Mikey Cousens, aged 15 and a former Mount House School pupil, is a talented left handed batsmen and fast bowler. Currently a pupil at Harrow School in London Mikey has played for Devon County sides for the past five years and is currently playing for Devon U17s, two years above his age group and has scored a large amount of runs in each season he has played for the county.

He has also picked up the county's player of the year for the past five seasons. 

Mikey had a number of first class county sides chasing him but decided that Surrey was where he wanted to play his cricket where he will be coached by former England and Surrey batsmen Graham Thorpe. 

Mikey has played for Tavistock Cricket Clubs colt section for the past four seasons where he has scored more than 600 runs in the Palladium League and is currently playing for the clubs U15s side. Mikey has also featured in a number of adult games for the club again scoring well with the bat on many occasion.
