THREE employees from Ginsters and a friend from Plymouth are facing the challenge of a lifetime as they gear up to tackle the Three Peaks Challenge this weekend.

Kim Campbell, Alan James and Allen Harding, employed by Ginsters in Callington, and Melody Camp, who works for BD Diagnostics in Plymouth, are taking on the challenge to climb Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours to raise money for childrens charity CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids).

The task involves 24 miles of walking and 400 miles of driving, and the team have been busy training up and down hills around the Tamar Valley.

The group hope to raise around £2,400 for CHICKS, which provides disadvantaged children with respite breaks in the charitys countryside retreat in Brentor or the coastal retreat in Cornwall.

Alan James, 46, said: Its a great opportunity to do a challenge of a lifetime and support a great charity like CHICKS. The other factor is that were all the wrong side of 40, so we are no spring chickens, which makes the challenge all the more rewarding.
