A PUB crawl with a difference is being organised next month, in an effort to support West Devon publicans after the foot and mouth crisis.
Lamerton Foxhounds is arranging a horseback ride around the moorland hostelries in an endeavour to give the watering holes extra business — as well as raising funds for the hunt itself.
The ride, on Saturday, September 1, will start at the White Hart in Bridestowe at 11am and will take in other pubs en route to the Brentor Inn.
Hunt organisers say that they wanted to repay the pubs to a small extent for their generosity during the hunting season, and to help following the 'appallingly hard time' many pubs have suffered during the foot and mouth crisis.
Everyone will be welcome on the ride, especially children and visitors to Devon, and guides or escorts will be available for anyone uncertain of the route. Enquiries please to Neon Reynolds on 01837 861678.
