a barn dance on Saturday May 13 at Nicholls Hall, Lydford, will help raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The event, organised by Kim Strawbridge, will feature live band ?The Vacant Lot? from Surrey and a local caller from Plymouth to help beginners. The dance starts at 7.30pm. The bar will be run by the Lydford sports field committee and snacks will be available. ?Everyone?s welcome, the more the merrier!? said Kim. ?So come along and support a very worthwhile charity, dust off your dancing shoes . . . or just prop up the bar and laugh at the rest of us!? Next month Kim will take part in a sponsored trek along the Rift Valley in Tanzania to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research and education.
