WEST Devon-based children's charity CHICKS is looking for teams of four adventurers to take on the Dartmoor Challenge this September.

The Dartmoor Challenge is a two day event that requires teams of four to carry a CHICKSBox up to 30 miles over mixed terrain against the dramatic backdrop of Dartmoor National Park. Teams will compete for points over a variable course where navigation, tactical decision making and teamwork will count as much as speed and endurance.

The Challenge is designed to be both physically and mentally demanding, however for any participants wishing to push themselves for longer and harder, there is an 'elite' level of the event — approximately 45 miles across the two days.

The event will take place over the weekend of September 13 and 15.

The Challenge will be based at CHICKS Moorland Retreat at Brentor.

Participants should provide their own tent and will have the use of the event camp site and associated facilities for the duration of the event.

There is no entry fee but teams are encouraged to raise as much money as possible to support CHICKS, a target donation of £1,000 per team is suggested.
