A MOORLAND garden will be opening its gates to the public this weekend to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

Stroll Gardens in Yelverton will be opening exclusively for the St Luke’s Open Gardens scheme on Sunday, April 23.

Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of this sheltered moorland garden and explore the well-manicured lawns and deep and varied borders, while browsing the plants for sale and enjoying some of the on-hand refreshments.

The private garden will be open between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday. Admission is £5 with proceeds going to St Luke’s Hospice. Parking is available, but dogs are not permitted.

The garden is at Stroll, Yeoland Lane, Yelverton, PL20 6BX.

This year’s St Luke’s Open Gardens, which runs until September, gives people the chance to explore 23 varied gardens, many of which are not normally open to the public, offering a unique and private insight into garden planning and planting schemes.

Last year, the open gardens programme raised more than £40,000 for St Luke’s, enough to cover the cost of almost 200 home visits to families across the Plymouth, Tavistock, South West Devon and East Cornwall areas.
