AFTER 15 years of being closed to the public, the Stannary in Mary Tavy is opening its gates for two open garden days in aid of charity.

The Stannary, which used to be a vegetarian restaurant, has an informal two acre garden with views of the moor. The natural planting is abundant, and has areas for wildlife such as ponds and a meadow.

The garden will be open this Sunday (May 16) from 2pm to 6pm, with home made teas and plant sales on offer.

The garden will be open again on June 13, 2pm to 6pm.

Part of the National Garden Scheme, the open gardens raise money for Macmillan Nurses and a range of other caring charities.
