A WEST Devon residential home is addressing the often taboo subject of death at a cream tea afternoon next week.

The Red House in Yelverton will be hosting the event as part of National Dying Matters Awareness Week, from May 14 to 18.

Organisers hope the cream tea afternoon will give people the opportunity to ask questions and raise awareness of the subject. The event will provide information about powers of attorney, preferred places of care and advance decisions to refuse treatment with guest speaker John Emptage. He will also take a question and answer session on all legal matters pertaining to death and dying.

The event will take place on Thursday May 17 at 2.30pm.
