Callington Netball League
October 4: Swingletree 32 v Action 18 — Swingletree won what could have been a difficult game with Action providing strong opposition. The final score did not reflect the effort from Action with Heather Craddick putting in a good individual performance.
7-Up 30 v Callington Sports Centre 37 — A high scoring game well umpired, 7-Up played well with individual performances by Karen Hocking and Jackie Foster, and Judith Farris was the nominated player for Callington Sport Centre. This could be an important result as both teams are likely to be near the top of the table at the end of the season.
Cross House 12 v Red Devils 20 — this was a much improved performance by Red Devils after some disappointing results. Cross House were worthy opponents but over zealous umpiring with not enough advantage played made for a disjointed game.
October 11: Callington Community School 10 v Caradon 32 — Caradon were too strong for the school team, who struggled to work well together. Both shooters for Caradon were on form and recorded their highest score of the season. Callington School are improving and never gave up.
Hennings Moir 11 v Action 31 — Hennings Moir worked well but poor passing gave Action the easy victory. Action turned in a better performance than last week when losing to Swingletree. Heather Craddick was nominated for Action with Bonnie Metherell also playing well.
Callington Sports Centre 29 v Swingletree 37 — a significant result for Swingletree who are now early favourites for the title, having beaten both their nearest rivals.
A close, high scoring game, with Lisa Martin again on top form for Swingletree and Nikki Pratten and Judy Shorten playing well for the Sports Centre team.
