ARCHIE Brew, the internationally known swimming coach, will be launching the Swimathon Appeal at Kelly College next Thursday, January 11.
He will be at the pool at 8pm to give tips on how to improve front crawl technique and how to prepare for the Swimathon. There is no charge.
There will be adult swimmers of differing abilities in the water trying to put his advice into action.
This year the BT Swimathon is in aid of cancer charities, and as this is a disease which has in some way touched everyone, pool manager Wendy Dalton wants to make it the year in which the fund raising target of £2,000 is broken.
The Swimathon takes place between March 9 and 25 and is in its eleventh year.
The challenge is to swim 200 lengths of the Kelly pool which is 5,000m, or if that is too daunting 2,500m or 1,500m.
There are also team challenges or participants can just swim as far as they can.
For more information or an entry form contact Wendy Dalton on 01822 8l3155 at the pool.
